Each time a page on your site doesn't load, an error message shall be shown to the website visitor. Since there are different errors, there are different pages that will display, but what is common for all of them is that they are generic and probably shall have practically nothing in common with the design of your Internet site, which could be irritating for any visitor. This is the reason why hosting providers have introduced a feature called Custom Error Pages. For a number of different errors, site visitors shall see your custom content, which may be informative or amusing, in accordance with your choice, and which shall match the layout of your website, so the pages will not look like they aren't part of your website at all. You could use this option for a number of errors - 400 (Bad request), 401 (Unauthorized), 403 (Forbidden) and 404 (File not Found).

Custom Error Pages in Website Hosting

The personalized error pages function is available with every website hosting plan which we offer and you shall be able to replace all generic pages with your own with no more than a few mouse clicks inside your Hepsia hosting CP. You will have to create the actual files and to upload them to your account, then to set them for a specific domain or subdomain from the Hosted Domains section of the Hepsia Control Panel. You can easily do this for each Internet site hosted in the account individually, so that every set of customized pages will have the very same design and style as the site it's part of. If required, you can always revert back to a default page from our system or to the default Apache server page. Another way to set customized error pages is to create an .htaccess file inside the domain/subdomain root folder and to include a few lines in it. If you have never done this before, you can simply copy the needed code from our Help article on this subject.
